Product Description
Green Lantern Hal Jordan has returned from the dead -- but not everyone is happy to see him back on the job as Earth's protector. As he re-establishes his life as a test pilot for the Air Force and reconnects with his super-hero comrades-in-arms, Green Lantern faces renewed threats from his rogues gallery of foes, including Hector Hammond, the Shark, Black Hand and the Manhunters. This volume also includes a beautifully illustrated tale with art by Eisner Award winner Darwyn Cooke (DC: THE NEW FRONTIER), revealing the first time Hal's father took him flying as a child.

More Accessable and Entertaining Than Rebirth, Monday, August 09, 2010
No Fear felt shorter than Rebirth, even though the book is bigger. This is because I found this volume much more fun than the last. This was a really balanced arc with equality in time spent on villains and heroes. I got a lot of great Green Lantern moments, and the villains laid waste on my senses. I love Shark and Hector Hammond. Both are such rich characters with distinct motivations. The fact that Hammond terrorizes Jordan out of envy is a unique touch that I cannot ignore. The more I delve into this universe, the more I make good comparisons with Batman's rogue gallery. I think back on No Fear connecting most with the moments of Hal Jordan and the villains, and especially the later artwork of Simon Bianchi. Also, the use of flashbacks was by far the most effective method I've seen in comics.
Picking up right where Rebirth left of, No Fear continues up the skyscraper of entertainment. I'm having a lot of fun with the series, and I will definately keep reading it. I may have yawned through the Manhunter bits, but his classic villains made the book worth 5 stars. Once again, I am left wanting more and more.

GL is back!, Wednesday, May 12, 2010
This is an awesome return for Green Lantern and an excellent jumping on point for new readers. I'd reccomend checking out rebirth first just to get a full handle, but even without that "No Fear" proves to be a great to find out just why Hal Jordan is the man!

Good start, Saturday, October 03, 2009
As a newcomer to GL series I started with GL: Rebirth and was overwhelmed by a sheer number of terms and characters. I didn't like it for that reason. This volume actually is a much better start for a new reader as it focuses on a story and a few characters instead of trying to mention everything in GL mythos.
