Official Rules

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY

1. To enter, beginning at 12:00 noon (EDT) on February 22, 2004,
1. log on to www.rasalvatore.com/highwayman, open the applicable Web page by clicking on the Turnpike Raffle icon, and follow the instructions included therein;
2. All entries must contain the following information:
   1. Entrant's alias;
   2. Entrant's Password;
3. Neither CDS Books nor any of its parent or related companies, affiliates, subsidiaries or advertising and promotional agencies, shall be responsible for late, lost, misdirected or incomplete entries, technical or software malfunctions, lost or unavailable network connections or failed, incorrect, inaccurate, incomplete or delayed electronic communications, whether caused by the sender, by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this Contest or by any human error which might occur in the processing of the entries for this Contest. Entries that are indecipherable or unintelligible for any reason, including, but not limited to, computer or network malfunction or congestion, are not eligible.
4. This Contest will commence at 12:00 noon (EDT) on February 22, 2004. All e-mail entries must be received by 11:59PM (EDT), Sunday March 21st, 2004. All entries will become the sole property of CDS Books and will not be returned.
5. The winning entry(s) will be selected purely at random by CDS Books. The first five eligible entries drawn will win the Prize set forth in item 7 below. The Grand Prize winning entry will be selected by CDS Books based on referrals to the contest and newsletter. Only one person will win the Grand Prize set forth in item 7 below.
6. The drawing will be conducted on or about March 22, 2004. All decisions by CDS Books regarding this Contest shall be final. The winner will be notified via e-mail within five (5) business days after the drawing date.
7. The winner will be required to complete a prize shipping address form within seven (7) days of notification. Noncompliance within this time period, or the return of any prize or prize notification as undeliverable, will result in disqualification. By entering this Contest, all entrants agree that neither CDS Books nor any of its related or affiliated companies, nor any of their respective employees, officers, directors, parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries or advertising or promotional agencies, nor any other company participating in the design, administration or fulfillment of this Contest, shall be responsible or liable for any illnesses, injuries, losses, litigation, damages or costs of any kind that may result from the entrants' participation in this Contest or the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of the Prizes awarded hereunder.
8. 5 Prizes will be awarded consisting of The Highwayman and the DemonWars graphic novel volume 1 by R. A. Salvatore. The approximate retail value of the Prize is $35. No cash substitutions will be allowed. 1 Grand prize will be awarded consisting of autographed copy of The Highwayman and DemonWars graphic novel volume 1 by R. A. Salvatore. Approximate retail value of the grand prizes is $35.
9. The value of the Grand Prize represents CDS Books' actual good-faith determination of the maximum retail value thereof. For Form 1099 reporting purposes, the winner shall be bound by such good-faith determination.
10. The Sponsor of the Contest is CDS Books.
11. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Taxes, if any, on the Prizes are the sole responsibility of the winner. No prize substitution by the winner will be allowed. The Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the stated prize is not available. No cash alternative will be awarded. By entering this Contest, all entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules.
12. The Sponsor reserves the right to terminate online entry if technical difficulties compromise the integrity or ability to continue online entry. Where a dispute arises about who submitted an online entry, the entry will be deemed submitted by the authorized holder of record of the e-mail account.
13. The odds of winning this Contest are indeterminate and depend upon the number of valid entries received.
14. This Contest is void where prohibited or restricted by federal, state or local laws.
15. By entering this Contest, the entrant authorizes CDS Books to contact them for notification purposes only in regards to this contest and The Highwayman newsletter
